These trousers show the classic hemp cloth with its singular structure for the first time in the traditional blue of blue printing. Sculptural relief embroidery stands out in light contrast against the intense blue. The metal buttons carry the embossed Lampasse on their heads.
The hemp
Hemp is the first plant cultivated by human hand and is found in almost every part of the world. The hemp fibre, which is won from dried hemp straw through a number of working steps, looks back on a tradition in textile making that is thousands of years old. Somewhat forgotten in recent decades, its characteristic properties are valued by Gössl, which makes it the base fabric of its ideas. Hemp is light and supple, yet holds its shape and hardly creases.
