The Henndorfer ruffle, also known as the rose ruffle, is widely loved above all as a decorative trim on the Dirndl. Playful and yet never obtrusive, it lends even plain Dirndls a youthful air. The Henndorfer ruffle can be worked in one or two colours and in various sizes.

Hexenstich and daisy stitch

The Hexenstich (witch stitch) is a traditional hand-embroidery technique in which fine, crossed stitches create a seam that is decorative and stable at once. It gives the Gwand a characterful, handcrafted structure and is often used as a symbolic detail for good fortune.

The daisy stitch is a delicate, floral form of embroidery in which blossom-like loops are formed. It appears playful and elegant at once and brings a light, natural ornamentation to the Gwand. Both stitches stand for traditional handwork and loving attention to detail.
