This elegant Schnurstepp Dirndl with a linen bodice unites traditional craft details with natural lightness. The bodice is distinguished by its characteristic corded quilting. Corded quilting is one of those forms of classic textile art that came to particular significance through the Salzburg quilted Mieder (bodice). For this, the tailor lays a piping cord beneath the outer fabric and quilts it with a twin needle that runs along the left and right of the cord. In this way the fabric gains a three-dimensional quality that appears embossed. The old craft of millinery unites with the masterly workmanship of contemporary Tracht. The flowing jacquard skirt lends a refined movement and, through its finely woven-in pattern, brings a particular depth to the whole. A charming wool braid at the neckline sets a soft, contrasting accent.
