Long Ausseer Dirndl in the typical Ausseer colours: the bodice of linen is green and the cotton skirt is pink. The colours reflect what the Dirndl stands for symbolically, those of the Ausseerland in the Salzkammergut: the green of the linen bodice stands for forest and meadow, and the pink of the cotton skirt symbolises the Almröschen (alpine roses). Combined with the Dirndl apron in purple – the colour of the gentian – the Dirndl is enchanting.

The Ausseer colours
With its unmistakable combination of colours, the Ausseer Dirndl is surely the best-known Dirndl in the Alpine region. The Tracht consists of a pink cotton skirt with scattered white flowers, a restrained green linen bodice and a purple cotton apron, likewise with delicate flowering tendrils. The rich green of the bodice stands for forest and meadow, the delicate pink of the skirt for the Almröschen and the strong purple of the apron for the gentian. Gössl has taken these meaningful colours and their tradition into its own DNA as a fixed star. - Skirt length
