Festive Gilet in Jacquard weave with a stand collar, a full button placket and piped pockets. The fine diamond pattern is woven in blue-grey, the lining made of pure silk. The width can be adjusted with the buckle at the back.
Jacquard
Twenty years after the invention of the mechanical loom, the French silk weaver Joseph-Marie Jacquard achieved an innovation: he raised and lowered the warp threads individually for each weft thread. What sounds technical allows particularly fine patterns directly in the weave – not printed on, but woven in. To this day, the fabrics for church, theatre and Tracht are made on Jacquard looms.
