The jacket in elastic lambskin comes in a classic cut with a stand collar. On the front, a traditional, hand-made waffle smocking has been worked into the leather, laying it in artful folds. Horn buttons with the double-headed eagle stand in line along the button placket. Side pockets complete this desirable jacket. Lined with pure silk.
Hand smocking/waffle smocking
Originally, a smock was a loose overgarment whose manner of making soon became a generic term in handwork. For the basis of every smocking is a section of fabric set into fine, even folds by gathering threads. For perfect smocking, both must be set precisely and evenly.
