The high-closing linen Gilet shows the intense power of true Blaudruck blue. Geometric corded stitching stands slightly proud along the button placket. Traditional colour and technique are set in scene in an innovative way. Shimmering metal buttons with a Lampasse embossing close the desirable Gilet at the button placket.
The Blaudruck – intense and expressive
The Blaudruck, the traditional indigo resist print, has a long tradition in Austria. It is a true craft that was perfected early and has been preserved across the centuries. With its strong colour and its contrast, the traditional Blaudruck immediately shows a fascinating presence. The numerous details that make up a true Blaudruck arise first and foremost from the demanding production process. For what is printed is precisely what will not be dyed later. Traditional motifs are printed on in precise handwork with pure acacia resin. The natural drying process that follows takes up to ten weeks. Only once it is certain that the resin can fully withstand the dye is the fabric dipped into the dye bath. Gössl takes up this heritage of textile refinement humbly, yet does not shy away from adding further chapters to this success story and enriching tradition in fabrics and refinement techniques with new variations. Combined with new colours, Gössl shows the Blaudruck as the adaptable all-rounder of Tracht.
