Tendril Dirndl

Bauernleinen

The Original Bauernleinen, farmer's linen, has long been an important part of the cultural history of the Alpine region. Linen cloth was ever-present in everyday life: bed covers, table linen, Gwand – everywhere the Bauernleinen showed its singularity through its characteristic structure. The slubs of the spun yarns also come to the fore in the woven fabric, its changeable appearance makes the Bauernleinen unmistakable and singular. Gössl takes the tradition and individuality of this fabric and makes it the basis of new ideas with old strength.

Anna Plochl satin

Here the cotton is woven in a particular way, so that the fabric gains lightly breathable and moisture-regulating properties. Its luxuriously shimmering surface is wonderfully soft and smooth.

Allgäu glass buttons

Singularity and lasting value give jewellery made of glass its much-loved timeless elegance. Traditional expertise and manual skill are the hallmark of the Allgäu glass bead and button manufactory. Everything begins here with quartz sand, soda, lime and colourant. The ingredients are fused under great heat and worked into thin rods. Only now does the actual button come into being: the end of the glass rod is heated to around 1,000 degrees and then pressed into a "Kappl", a mould of steel or nickel. The specialist knows that only the right moment guarantees a perfect result. After 24 hours of slow cooling, the surplus corners are finally removed and the rough surface is smoothed with diamond grinding wheels. In the last step of work the small works of art are refined; depending on the motif, they are vapour-coated with precious metals or have artful patterns ground into them. Every button thus becomes an unmistakable one-off. Gössl rounds off many models with these small works of art.

Witch stitch and daisy stitch

The witch stitch is a traditional hand embroidery technique in which fine, crossed stitches create a decorative and at the same time stable seam. It gives the Gwand a characterful, hand-crafted structure and is often used as a symbolic detail for good fortune.

The daisy stitch is a delicate, floral form of embroidery in which blossom-like loops are formed. It appears playful and elegant at once and brings a light, natural ornamentation to the Gwand. Both stitches stand for traditional handwork and loving attention to detail.

The made-to-measure Dirndl

Every Gössl Dirndl is made with particular devotion; it is considered tailoring craft. With the help of seam allowances at the side seam, the waist, the shoulder and the skirt, the Dirndl can easily be altered to two further sizes – one larger, one smaller. In this way the favourite model is perfectly adjusted to your own figure with little effort. Every woman receives a made-to-measure Dirndl that fits.

The perfect fit of the Gössl Dirndl

The Dirndl bodice (Laib) has been continually developed further at Gössl for decades. The boning sewn into the bodice conceals every unwanted crease and guarantees a perfect fit when standing as well as when sitting. The fine Paspeln (piping) at the back additionally emphasise the figure in a very charming way and ensure that the Dirndl always sits correctly.
