Blue print – intense and expressive

Blue print has a long tradition in Austria. It is a true craft, perfected early on and preserved over centuries. With its strong colour and its contrast, traditional blue print immediately shows a fascinating presence. The numerous details that make up genuine blue print arise above all from the demanding production process. For what is printed is precisely what will not be dyed later. Traditional motifs are printed on in precise handwork with pure acacia resin. The natural drying process that follows takes up to ten weeks. Only when it is certain that the resin can fully withstand the dye is the fabric dipped into the dye bath. Gössl takes up this heritage of textile refinement humbly, yet does not shy away from adding further chapters to this success story and from enriching traditional fabrics and refinement techniques with new variations. Combined with new colours, Gössl shows blue print as the versatile all-rounder of Tracht.
