Joppe with summery contrast

Joppe in mottled linen. Together with the Dragoner at the back and the bindings on the slit pockets, the collar draws a summery, light contrast. The fine metal buttons carry a delicately openworked floral pattern. The hand-worked Schneiderfliege (tailor's tack) sets a traditional accent at the back. Piped buttonholes. Lined with pure silk.

The Dragoner

In Tracht, the term "Dragoner" refers first of all to a back strap (bar) on traditional jackets or coats, as found on the Salzburg suit, for example. This classic detail traditionally serves to regulate the width and is at the same time a distinctive sign of fine workmanship. Historically, the term goes back to the dragoons – mounted infantry units whose appearance still echoes today in uniform and tradition.

The Schneiderfliege

The Schneiderfliege is a truly time-honoured trick. It has always been used to stabilise slits and the intersections of seams and to decorate them at the same time. At Gössl it is worked in the traditional way, genuinely by hand.

Silk lining

is hypoallergenic and therefore ideal for allergy sufferers and asthmatics, since natural substances in the silk keep house dust mites, mould and fungi away. It regulates moisture, warms in winter and cools in summer. Silk is also flame-retardant, kind to the skin and provides a luxurious feel on the body.

Piped buttonholes

Piped buttonholes are particularly finely bound buttonholes, in which narrow strips of fabric neatly enclose the edges. This traditional tailoring technique provides stability and an elegant, precise appearance.
