Jacket in linen and Jägerleinen

The casual jacket with stand collar in Jägerleinen and linen is purist and unlined, in Gössl's own colouring, which recalls the deep green of a shaded meadow. Buttons of genuine stag horn stand in line along the button placket. At the back there is a Dragoner with an inverted pleat that ends in a hand-embroidered tailor's bow. The jacket is lined with pure silk.

The Jägerleinen

Over centuries, linen enjoyed a particular reputation as clothing. The fabric was long held in high regard by the rural population for its hard-wearing nature. From the beginning of the 1920s, however, it also found its way into bourgeois society. Not without reason: at that time the summer retreat was especially popular in better circles. People left the hot city centres and betook themselves to the soothing freshness of nature in the countryside. And of course man and woman had to be suitably dressed. Jägerleinen is a robust blend of linen and cotton with unmistakable merits: it is light and comfortable, airy and yet compact. Gössl gives its Jägerleinen a warm mid-green tone reminiscent of a shaded meadow on a hot summer's day.

The Dragoner

In Tracht, the term "Dragoner" denotes first and foremost a back strap (bar) on traditional jackets or coats, as found on the Salzburg suit, for example. This classic detail of high-quality men's models traditionally serves to regulate the width and is at the same time a distinctive sign of fine workmanship. Historically, the term goes back to the dragoons – mounted infantry units whose appearance still echoes today in uniform and the keeping of tradition.

The tailor's bow

The tailor's bow is a trick truly rich in tradition. It has always been used to stabilise slits and the intersections of seams and to decorate them at the same time. At Gössl it is worked in the traditional way, genuinely by hand.
