The shawl in soft cotton shows printed Model knit patterns combined with the tradition-rich Meraner gobelin embroidery as a placed print, bordered by the Lampasse typical of Gössl.
The gobelin embroidery
What the checked tartan is to the Scot, the richly embroidered braces worn with the Lederhose are to our noble houses as a sign of belonging to their families. The outstanding examples carry a gobelin embroidery. The technique arose as early as the 17th century at the French court and allows fine, richly detailed motifs to be depicted. It turns the yarn into a tool for breathtaking textile paintings.
