The linen jacket shows the intense power of true Blaudruck blue and combines it with geometric corded quilting that stands out slightly along the button placket. Traditional colour and ornament technique are staged in an innovative way. Shimmering metal buttons with Lampasse embossing complete this desirable jacket.

Blaudruck – intense and expressive
The Blaudruck (indigo resist printing) has a long tradition in Austria. It is a true craft that was perfected early on and has been preserved over centuries. With its strong colour and its contrast, traditional Blaudruck immediately shows a fascinating presence. The numerous details that make up genuine Blaudruck arise above all from the demanding production process. For what is printed is precisely what will not be dyed later. Traditional motifs are printed on in precise handwork with pure acacia resin. The natural drying process that follows takes up to ten weeks. Only when it is certain that the resin can fully withstand the dye is the fabric dipped into the dye bath. Gössl takes up this heritage of textile refinement humbly, but does not shy away from adding further chapters to this success story and enriching traditional fabrics and refinement techniques with new variations. Combined with new colours, Gössl shows Blaudruck as the adaptable all-rounder of Tracht.
Corded quilting
Corded quilting is one of those outstanding forms of classic textile art. For this, the tailor lays a Paspel cord (piping cord) under the outer fabric and stitches it with a twin needle that runs along the left and right of the cord. In this way the fabric gains a three-dimensional quality that looks as though it were embossed.
