Ausseer colours

The rich green stands for the woods and meadows of the Ausseer Land, the delicate pink for the Almröschen (alpine roses) and the strong-charactered purple for the gentian. Gössl has taken these meaningful colours and their tradition into its own DNA as a fixed star.

Jacquard

Twenty years after the invention of the mechanical loom in 1785, the pioneering spirit of the French silk weaver Joseph-Marie Jacquard brought about a groundbreaking innovation. He found a way to raise and lower the warp threads individually for each weft thread. What sounds highly technical opened up the possibility of weaving patterns of a fineness previously hard to imagine into the fabric. That historical jacquard looms are still used today to produce authentic fabrics for church, theatre and Tracht stands as a symbol of the inventor's success. Gössl combines the jacquard technique with traditional patterns of Tracht.
