The Gilet in soft wool jacquard shows itself in a sumptuous baroque pattern of leaves and tendrils. Lederhosen buttons of genuine horn stand in line along the button placket. Piped buttonholes. Lined with pure silk.
Jacquard
Twenty years after the invention of the mechanical loom in 1785, the pioneering spirit of the French silk weaver Joseph-Marie Jacquard led to a ground-breaking innovation. He found a way to raise and lower the warp threads individually for each weft thread. What sounds highly technical opened up the possibility of weaving patterns of a fineness hitherto barely imaginable into the fabric . That historical Jacquard looms are still used today to produce authentic fabrics for church, theatre and Tracht stands as a symbol of the inventor's success. At a local weaving mill, Gössl brings the Jacquard technique together with traditional patterns of Tracht.
Piped buttonholes
Piped buttonholes are particularly finely bound buttonholes, in which narrow strips of fabric enclose the edges cleanly. This traditional tailoring technique provides stability and an elegant, precise appearance. It is regarded as a mark of high-quality workmanship and gives the Gwand a quiet, refined and durable character.
Silk lining
is hypoallergenic and therefore ideal for allergy sufferers and asthmatics, as natural substances in the silk keep house dust mites, mould and fungi away. It regulates moisture, warms in winter and cools in summer. Silk is also flame-retardant, kind to the skin and provides a luxurious feel when worn.
