Blaudruck jacket

The linen jacket from the Gössl Edition shows the tradition-rich Blaudruck, the blue resist print. White scattered flowers stand out in strong contrast against the deep blue of the fabric. The jacket with stand collar and lapels can be combined with a Dirndl or a skirt and stands for true craftsmanship. The Ischler pockets, the Dragoner half-belt at the back and the metal buttons round off this desirable ensemble. The lining shimmers in pure silk.

The Blaudruck – intense and expressive

The Blaudruck has a long tradition in Austria. It is a true craft, perfected early on and preserved over centuries. With its strong colour and its contrasting effect, the traditional Blaudruck immediately has a fascinating presence. The numerous details that make up a genuine Blaudruck arise above all from the demanding production process. For what is printed is precisely what will not be dyed later. Traditional motifs are printed on in precise handwork with pure acacia resin. The natural drying process that follows takes up to ten weeks. Only when it is certain that the resin can withstand the dye completely is the fabric dipped into the dye bath. Gössl takes up this heritage of textile refinement humbly, yet does not shy away from adding further chapters to this success story and from enriching traditional fabrics and refining techniques with new variations. Combined with new colours, Gössl shows the Blaudruck as the versatile all-rounder of Tracht.
