The Hexenstich
The hand-set Hexenstich is Gössl's homage to craftsmanship in the old tradition. It marks the true worth of the Gwand. According to popular belief, the name derives from the oath a witch swears to the devil, raising her left hand as she does so. Since the cross stitch is embroidered from left to right, the thread has to be drawn smooth to the left, which gives rise to the characteristic movement of the hand.
