Loden
In earlier times the farmers' wives and maids spun the wool into firm threads in winter. The weaver made cloth from it, before the magical fulling process began. To this day, original Loden cloth is made from wool in the traditional hammer fulling mill, under the action of moisture, soap, warmth and friction. Step by step a wondrous cloth comes into being, whose versatile properties have always fascinated and inspired Gössl. It turns away wind and weather, is breathable and pleasant on the skin. In Tracht, structure and colour are today a mark of quality and lasting value.
Plating
Plating is a particularly refined form of technical knitting. The needle guidance of the machine can be altered so that one yarn colour is brought to the fore and a second yarn colour steps into the background. In this knitting variant, the plating thread overlays the base thread. Depending on the composition of the yarns used, this produces a finely articulated colour effect, ranging from a discreet gradation of colour with tonally chosen yarns to wondrous colour melanges with a subtle contrast. The demanding overlaying of the two threads also creates a lively, three-dimensional knit, which brings out knitting patterns and motifs with great expression.
Lederhose buttons
The classic Lederhose button adorns not only chamois-tanned leather; Gössl also uses it on jackets and knitwear. The varied grain of the horn makes every button unique. Shades of colour from deep black to beige allow it to be used on the most diverse fabrics.
Silk lining
is hypoallergenic and therefore ideal for allergy sufferers and asthmatics, as natural substances in the silk keep house dust mites, mould and fungi away. It regulates moisture, warms in winter and cools in summer. Silk is also flame-retardant, kind to the skin and gives a luxurious feel on the body.
Piped buttonholes
Piped buttonholes are particularly finely bound buttonholes, in which narrow strips of fabric neatly enclose the edges. This traditional tailoring technique provides stability and an elegant, precise appearance.
