The Jägerleinen

For centuries linen enjoyed a special reputation as clothing. Because of its durability, the fabric was long held in high regard among the rural population. From the beginning of the 1920s, however, it also found its way into bourgeois society. And not without reason: at that time the summer retreat was particularly popular in better circles. People left the hot city centres and took themselves off into the soothing freshness of nature in the countryside. And there, of course, man and woman had to be suitably dressed. Jägerleinen is a robust blend of linen and cotton with unmistakable merits: it is light and comfortable, airy and yet compact. Gössl gives its Jägerleinen a warm medium green tone that recalls a shaded meadow on a hot summer's day.

Here the cotton is woven in a particular way, so that the fabric takes on slightly breathable and moisture-regulating properties. Its luxuriously shimmering surface is wonderfully soft and smooth.

The Hexenstich

The hand-set Hexenstich is Gössl's homage to craftsmanship in the old tradition. It marks the true worth of the Gwand. According to popular belief, the name derives from a witch's oath to the devil, in which she is said to raise her left hand. Since cross stitch is embroidered from left to right, the thread has to be drawn smooth to the left, which brings about the characteristic movement of the hand.

The Dirndl made to measure

Every Gössl Dirndl is made with particular devotion; it is considered tailoring craft. With seam allowances at the side seam, the waist, the shoulder and the skirt, the Dirndl can easily be altered to two further sizes – one larger, one smaller. In this way the favourite model is perfectly adapted to your own figure with little effort. Every woman receives a made-to-measure Dirndl that fits.

The perfect fit of the Gössl Dirndl

At Gössl the Dirndl bodice has been developed further over decades. The boning sewn into the bodice conceals any unwanted crease and guarantees a perfect fit standing as well as sitting.
