Fitted cotton dress with a linen blend and relief embroidery
The patinated dress in cotton with linen is shown fitted, with 3/4 sleeves and a cut-on stand collar. Relief embroidery on the yoke and the sleeve cuff delights the eye. The classic Gamserl (chamois) sits on the left breast. Hand-embroidered on the back with herringbone stitch and a daisy blossom.
Herringbone stitch and daisy stitch
The herringbone stitch is a traditional hand embroidery technique in which fine, crossed stitches create a seam that is decorative and stable at the same time. It gives the Gwand a characterful, hand-crafted structure and is often used as a symbolic detail for good fortune.
The daisy stitch is a delicate, floral form of embroidery in which blossom-like loops are formed. It appears playful and elegant at once and brings a light, natural ornamentation into the Gwand. Both stitches stand for traditional handwork and loving attention to detail.
