Jacket in plated knit

The short, slim cut goes perfectly with the Dirndl. Thanks to the slightly two-tone plated knit, the jacket shows a wonderful play of colour. Cable and Ajour patterns on the body and sleeves, a moss stitch pattern at the sides and the scalloped edge complete the jacket. Patinated metal buttons.

Merino wool

The wool of the Merino sheep is a special form of virgin wool. Its fibres are particularly fine and pliable. That makes it especially soft to the touch and wonderfully gentle. It does not scratch and is nonetheless cosily warm. Merino wool is also breathable and temperature-balancing, so that Merino models give pleasure all year round.

Plating

Plating is a particularly refined form of technical knitting. The needle guidance of the machine can be altered so that one yarn colour comes to the fore and a second yarn colour recedes into the background. In this knitting variant the plating thread lies over the ground thread. Depending on the composition of the yarns used, the result is a delicate colour effect, ranging from a subtle gradation of colour with tonally chosen yarns to wondrous colour melanges with a subtle contrast. The demanding overlaying of the two threads also creates a lively, three-dimensional knit surface that brings out knitting patterns and motifs expressively.

Ajouré

"Ajouré" is French for "openwork". In textile art, Ajour or eyelet work denotes highly complex, lace-like knits formed by increasing and decreasing as well as by individual crossings of stitches. This gives rise to filigree patterns with textured surfaces that merge with fine holes and bars into an impressive melange. The resulting air permeability makes Ajour knitwear a welcome companion, especially in summer.
