The high-necked jacket with a round neckline sits beautifully at the waist. The sleeves are knitted in the traditional Ajour and bell patterns and lightly gathered at the shoulder. The buttons are of genuine mother-of-pearl. Ribbed cuffs appear at the hem and the sleeves.
Ajour\u00e9
"Ajour\u00e9" is French for "openwork". In textile craft, Ajour or eyelet embroidery denotes highly complex, lace-like knits formed by increasing and decreasing stitches as well as by individual crossed stitches. This gives rise to filigree patterns with textured surfaces that merge with fine holes and bars into an impressive melange. The air permeability that results makes Ajour knitwear a welcome companion, especially in summer.
Bell patterns
are a variant of Ajour knitting in which the stitches form small bells at regular intervals.
