Plated Blaudruck Stutzen

The plated-knit Stutzen, the traditional calf warmers, in virgin wool and cotton were inspired by the tradition-rich Blaudruck blue and show traditional patterns.

Plating

Plating is a particularly refined form of technical knitting. The needle guidance of the machine can be altered so that one yarn colour is brought to the fore and a second yarn colour recedes into the background. In this knitting variant the plating thread overlays the base thread. Depending on the composition of the yarns used, the result is a delicate colour effect ranging from subtle gradations with tonally chosen yarns to wondrous colour melanges with a subtle contrast. The demanding overlaying of the two threads also creates a lively, three-dimensional knit, which brings out the knitted patterns and motifs with expression.
